Assigning a Host Header to Your Web Site




If you have already created a domain, sub-domain, or domain alias, follow these instructions to assign it to your website as a Host Header. WebsitePanel refers to Host Headers as Pointers. IIS 7 refers to Host Headers as Bindings.

From the Hosting Account screen as shown in Figure 1, hover over the “Web” icon and select “Web Sites.”

The “Web Sites” screen, as shown in Figure 2, shows a list of all your Web Sites. Click the desired website.

The “Web Site Properties” screen, as shown in Figure 3, shows the domains associated with the site. Click the “Add Web Site Pointer” button to add the new domain.

The “Add Web site Domain Pointer” screen, as shown in Figure 4, shows a dropdown list containing all domains, sub-domains, and domain aliases that are not currently bound to any website. Select the domain you want to bind to the current website and click the “Add Pointer” button.

Figure 5 shows the new website host header as being bound to this website.
